The price is the system

Vegas loves a system.

The sportsbook doesn’t care what you pick. It cares what price you pay.
Every standard bet at −110 has to win 52.4% of the time just to break even. No system, streak or tout changes that number. Only a better price does.
That’s why books love bettors with a system. A system feels like control, and control keeps you betting. The math plays out the same either way.
KYT doesn’t sell a system. It checks the price, free, before you pay for the pick.

The Tout Illusion: Why “Winning” Bettors Still Lose Money

Why trust our numbers?
We tested the market against millions of real trades before building KYT.
How we know
You don’t need to be a math expert. Start with what you pay, what a win returns, and what your pick service charges. The details below show how KYT checks the numbers.
Break-even probability
stake ÷ total payout
$5 to return $9.09 → 5 ÷ 9.09 = 55.0%. The bet must win more often than that to profit long-run.
De-vig (the stricter of two ways)
p = lower of (1/d₁) ÷ (1/d₁ + 1/d₂) and (1/d₁)ᵏ, where (1/d₁)ᵏ + (1/d₂)ᵏ = 1
Remove the sportsbook’s cut two standard ways and use whichever gives your side the lower chance. -125 / +103 → 53.0% (proportional) or 53.2% (power) → 53.0% fair. The two split on long shots with a big cut, where bettors overpay; KYT never rates a price better than the stricter one supports.
Expected return
p × payout ÷ stake − 1
At 53.0% fair and $9.09 back on $5: 0.53 × 1.818 − 1 ≈ −3.6% per dollar. Only as good as the p you trust.
Parlays
p = p₁ × p₂ × …
Valid only if legs are independent. Same-game legs often are not, so we show "unknown" unless you opt in.
Confidence ≠ probability
"Lock" is not a number
Unit sizes and star ratings describe enthusiasm. We never translate them into odds.
Private backup & restore
Save journal entries, subscription expenses, your saved response draft, and your current slip draft. Choose a small backup without photos or a portable archive with photo bytes. Unsaved form edits are not included.
The JSON file is not encrypted. Anyone with the file can read it. KYT does not upload it. Choose a private location; selecting a cloud or messaging app in the share sheet shares it there.
Password protection: off
Save backup without photos
Photo archives: 8 MB per photo, 24 MB total photos, 40 MB unencrypted file limit. Password protection can double the file size. Browser storage may have a lower limit; failed restores keep your current journal.

Privacy and what this app is not
Your journal stays on this device in local storage. It is not encrypted or isolated by Google account.
Sign-in is optional and uses Clerk. Checking slips, photo reading and every calculation work without an account. No deposits or sportsbook connection.
No betting. KYT looks up the pros’ current price for the pick you enter, or you can enter a price yourself.
The website may show ads from Google, with gambling ads blocked; the app shows none. Clerk processes sign-in information; signing in does not upload your journal.
Service submissions, reports and evidence are stored on the server. Evidence stays private to its owner and moderators; approved responses and correction history are public.
Clearing local data does not delete server submissions. Device-only drafts are not uploaded automatically.
Slip photos stay local unless you choose Read photo. That sends the image through our server to Google Gemini for extraction; our server does not save it. Google’s Gemini API data policies depend on the API plan. Crop private details first and review all extracted fields. Manual entry remains available.
Nothing here is advice to bet or not bet. It is arithmetic.
If betting stops feeling like fun, a pass is always available. In the US, 1-800-GAMBLER is free and confidential.
